Yes. End-users control how exact they want their position to be, which further reflects what privacy level the end-user select in the privacy settings of the Safeture Mobile Application. Click here to read more about what privacy levels are offered.

Can end-users turn off the location sharing in the Safeture app?

Yes. As a measure of protecting end-user’s privacy and integrity, Safeture put them in complete control. End-users can choose to disable location sharing completely or, if enabled, set their own privacy level directly in the Safeture Mobile Application. Who can see the location of an end-user in the system?

  • Safeture: Only a few selected Safeture employees have full access to the location data when needed for technical development and support issues. The only government authority that may access the data is the Swedish police authority and requires a legal warrant from the Swedish justice system. Safeture keeps strict rules around information access and advanced levels of IT security protection, requiring that each access to the data is logged in an audit log for misuse inspection. • The Employer: Access to the location data is only given to the employer related to the Subscription ID/reference. The employer can only view their own employees and can decide who/whom within the organization that will have access to this data. Safeture will not be responsible for any employer’s internal process, which should be controlled and managed by the employer and regarding the data, accessible through the system. Note that the Employer is the data controller and has the legal right to access all employee’s personal data depending on the privacy agreement between the employee and the employer.

What is the purpose of locating employees?

Safeture is not a surveillance company. Our primary purpose of the positioning is to deliver specific, accurate, and necessary safety information tailored to the country/location you are traveling to or based in at the moment. The secondary purpose is that the positioning system can be used in case of an incident or emergency to locate an end-user’s last known location to send help.

How do you protect end-user privacy?

Protecting end-user privacy is at the core of Safeture’s values and something we work hard to achieve it in all aspects. Below you find measures implemented with regards to end-user privacy:

  • The end-user can easily disable all service including positioning capabilities in the mobile application.
  • The end-user can also set their own privacy level, which means that the mobile application will not report the exact location if desired, keeping the user’s location more private. Click here to read more about what privacy levels to choose from.
  • As a standard, Web Portal Administrator can only see the last known position (updated every hour) and no location history or travel patterns. Position history can only be provided to companies and partners if requested. Such requests are handled case by case and only if Safeture deems it to be a valid reason for such request, and that it is for the benefit of the end-user.
  • Safeture is based in Sweden, a country that has a long history of protecting the privacy and rights of employees. Safeture is required by law to provide any end-user with information on all data stored related to him/her.
